Boston Pizza offers heart-shaped pizzas for charity on Valentine's Day

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 3, 2014 - Share the love this Valentine’s Day with a heart-shaped pizza from Boston Pizza, while also helping children and youth across Canada. On Friday, February 14, exclusively at Boston Pizza locations from coast-to-coast, guests can enjoy a heart-shaped pizza with one dollar from the sale of each pizza supporting Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects, which is committed to helping kids be great through positive role modeling and mentoring programs.

“This is Boston Pizza’s 22nd year of celebrating Valentine’s Day with heart-shaped pizzas – a delicious way for families, friends and sweethearts to celebrate their love while supporting a great cause at the same time,” said Steve Silverstone, Executive Vice President of Marketing, Boston Pizza International. “We’re excited to serve tens of thousands of heart-shaped pizzas this year in support of our newly created BPF Future Prospects initiative.”

Heart-shaped pizzas are available in individual, small and medium sizes, on classic or multigrain dough. They can be ordered for dine-in, take-out or delivery in any of Boston Pizza’s gourmet and create-your-own pizza varieties. Boston Pizza expects to serve more than 65,000 heart-shaped pizzas across Canada on Valentine’s Day this year.

From now until February 14, guests can also purchase a Boston Pizza scratch card for a minimum donation of $2 where guests will have a 1-in-4 chance of winning a free Panookie, a free Starbucks coffee or $2 off a dessert. All proceeds raised will go to support BPF Future Prospects, which provides role models and mentoring programs for kids in communities from coast to coast through organizations like Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Kids Help Phone, Live Different and JDRF.

“Boston Pizza believes that strong role models inspire kids to be great.  That’s why Boston Pizza Foundation created Future Prospects to help support organizations that mentor kids to reach their full potential,” said Cheryl Treliving, Executive Director of Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects.  “Since 1993, our Valentine’s Day promotion has helped us raise awareness and more than $4.6 million to benefit numerous charities across Canada. We are grateful to all of our guests across Canada for their ongoing support and donations to Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects.”
