FEEDING COMMUNITY NEEDS FOR OVER 30 YEARS

Over the years, the Boston Pizza Foundation has maintained a strong and supportive connection with local communities. To date, we have raised and donated over $37 million to charities across the country.

OUR TEAM

For many Canadians, Boston Pizza is their first job. From coast to coast, Boston Pizza restaurants employ close to 20,000 Canadians. Some work part-time as they finish school, while others join Boston Pizza for a lifelong career. Our teams are diverse and so are the opportunities.

We set our employees up for success both inside the restaurant and out, with initiatives like our Boston Pizza International Scholarship which promotes post-secondary education, alongside other on-the-job training.

We also have an online platform called Boston Pizza Learning which helps restaurant staff stay up to date on new promotions, menu items, policies and food safety. In 2024, we’re looking to expand course offerings to corporate staff, as well as introduce tailored courses.

BP’s Looking After Local Program

Our new community investment program, Looking After Local, enables franchisees to do exactly that - look after local. This program is born out of the opportunity for over 365 independent franchisees to make an impact in the communities that they’re in. They know their communities best, so they decide where community fundraising goes.

BP franchisees have always had a strong passion for their communities and now they can show up how and when their communities need them most.

Partnering with Indigenous Link

At Boston Pizza we value a diverse workforce, it’s what makes us stronger. We are an equal opportunity employer and we have an exciting new partnership with Indigenous Link to strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities across Canada and increase diversity in our talent pool.

Tastes Good, Does Good

There’s nothing better than a satisfying meal that you can feel good about. A lot of care and consideration goes into everything we serve. We prioritize food safety, carefully select quality ingredients and continuously improve the variety and transparency of our menu items.

Canadian Sourced Ingredients

Ever have a delicious bite and think to yourself - where did this come from? Well, we’ll let you in on our (not-so-secret) ingredients.

All of our flour is sourced from the golden fields of the Prairies and hand-pressed into pizza dough every day. Our special sauce comes from vine-ripened tomatoes grown under the Californian sun, which are then transported to Edmonton and handmade into sauce. And our cheese and beef? 100% Canadian.

Animal Welfare

We work with our suppliers to support their compliance with the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare and many hold third-party endorsements such as the Global Animal Partnerships (GAP) certification.

Food Safety

Not only does our food get a green light in the delicious department, it also gets a green light from food safety. We’ve teamed up with two industry leaders, Steritech and Ecolab, to ensure the safety and quality of food across our restaurants.

We’re committed to delivering exceptional service to guests through the Core Brand Standards Assessment, an assessment conducted yearly with a focus on food quality and safety.

Improving Choice and Transparency

It’s important to us to provide our guests with a safer dining experience, by providing transparency around our ingredients and allergens. All of our nutritional information can be found here.

We want everyone around the table, dining stress-free. That’s why we have a highly flexible menu that caters to personal preferences and specific dietary needs.

We’re Environmentally Conscious

We’re always looking to be more environmentally responsible, finding innovative ways to minimize our carbon footprint. We apply this mindset to our packaging, waste management, restaurant design and restaurant operations.

Electric Restaurant

We’re pretty big on creating electric experiences, and the vibe is getting even more electric with our first ever fully electric-powered restaurant in Newfoundland. We hope this project is the first of many to incorporate green design and construction into our restaurants. Relying on renewable energy will help us reduce our carbon footprint.

Packaging

Taking everything to-go? We’ve made strides in making takeout more environmentally-friendly, by prioritizing reusable packaging, introducing paper bags and limiting the amount of packaging we use for our products.

Partnership with EcoDine

Industry challenges call for innovative solutions. That’s why we were so excited to partner with Ecodine in Alberta. Ecodine collects our used cooking oil and refines it to be used in agriculture, which enhances the sustainability of our food chain and its supply.
